The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, also known as KCSO, provides law enforcement services for the residents, business owners, and visitors of Kern County, California.

Kern County is 8,163 square miles and home to more than 800,000 residents. Kern County is the southernmost county of the San Joaquin Valley in California. Although our largest city is Bakersfield, Kern County is home to many growing municipalities.

Kern County is rich in vast landscapes that include the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, Sequoia National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, Red Rock Canyon, the Mojave Desert, 165 miles of rapids on the Kern River, beautiful almond orchards, and fields that provide produce across the nation.

The KCSO has substations in Buttonwillow, Delano, Frazier Park, Glennville, Kern Valley, Lamont, Mojave, Ridgecrest, Rosamond, Taft, Tehachapi, Wasco, and Inyokern.
